Here you can purchase insurance that will meet the requirements provided for by law.

Insurance is available to visitors who come to Poland (individually or as part of agencies and comapnies) in educational, business, touristic or cultural purposes.

All persons applying for a national visa or Schengen visa at a Polish consular office must provide, along with their visa application, a document confirming that they are covered by health insurance in Poland or by travel medical insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000; the document must be valid for the duration of the planned stay in Poland.

All foreigners applying for a temporary residence card in Poland submit to the voivode competent for the place of stay, not later than on the last day of legal stay in Poland, application for a residance permit with a document confirming health insurance in Poland or confirmation that the insurer covers the costs of treatment in Poland (e.g. an insurance policy). The sum insured depends on the voivodship office where the application is submitted, most of them require min. EUR 30,000 – the document should be valid for the period necessary to achieve the purpose of the foreigner’s stay in Poland.

Insurance cover

After arrival to Poland the policy covers the medical costs in case of a sudden illness or accident in Poland, with the possibility of extending to the territory of 26 countries of the Schengen Area.

In addition, under the insurance, you can purchase protection against the consequences of personal accidents and civil liability.

Medical expenses insurance
If you get sick or sustain an accident, we will arrange for and cover the costs of, among others:

a visit to a doctor

(including a visit to a dentist in an emergency)

tests

(e.g. X-ray scans, ECG, ultrasound scans, MRI scans,computed tomography, basic laboratory tests)

outpatient procedures and surgery

hospital stay and treatment

transport

(medical transport to a doctor or hospital,
between medical facilities, to another hospital, to a place of accommodation after medical assistance has been provided)

medical advice and referral, providing urgent information

treatment relating to complications during pregnancy

(not later than the end of the 32 week of pregnancy)

we will reimburse the costs

of, among others, medications, dressings, orthopedic items and supply of medical aids

Civil liability insurance

We will pay compensation to a person to whom you or persons under your care cause damage, e.g. where you:

  • injure him or her (i.e. personal injury),
  • damage his or her property (i.e. damage to property).

Accident insurance

If you take out our accident insurance: you will receive compensation if you suffer permanent damage to health as a result of an accident during travel (e.g. demage your eyesight, paralysis, total disablement), your relatives will receive compensation if you die as a result of an accident.
If you die as a result of an accident, your family will receive compensation from the insurance.

How to take out the insurance?

Insurance can be purchased by completing the application form available on the website. The application is available in three languages: Polish, English or Russian. Complete the application in the language you wish get the policy. The Polish Office for Foreigners usually accepts policies only in Polish. Once you pay the premium online using a bank card, we will send a document confirming the conclusion of the insurance contract (policy) to your e-mail address. The electronic policy must be printed out and attached to other visa documents or residence card in Poland.

The insurance is directed to students, scientists, pupils and free listener students, workers, turists, musicians who arrive in Poland individually, through an recruitment (employment) agency or travel company.

Yes, the insurance covers up to 100% of the sum insured hospital stay and treatment, medical transport and transport of the insured to the country of origin, transport of corpses. The basic policy is valid in Poland and it can be extended to the entire Schengen area.

Yes, the insurance meets the conditions set out in the Act on foreigners of December 12, 2013. Colonnade Insurance SA is on the list of insurers meeting the all new conditions of the above-mentioned Act, which was published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Insurer will not pay a benefit if an additional premium has not been paid for performing manual work.

Yes, the Assistance Centre will make a doctor’s appointment or hospitalization 24 hours a day, including direct billing. The Assistance Centre will provide visa advice, information on vaccinations, advice on the loss of luggage, passport, documents or tickets during your stay in Poland or the Schengen area.
